Fortis recently installed two cable conveyors and a channel conveyor with a total length of 24,087 feet (7.34km). This project was a huge success being completed ahead of schedule and under budget.

The first install was a 48” cable conveyor with a length of 8,312’. The installation consisted of tying the head end into an inline transfer, assembly and installation of the drive and take up, tail inline transfer as well as all carry structure and components. This scope included over 42,000’ of messenger cable install, high voltage cable install, PMPC, Disconnect, VFD Sled and T-plate install and associated electrical wiring.
The second 48” cable conveyor was slightly longer at 8,350’. This project included the complete installation of all structural steel, mechanical equipment, conveyor components, messenger, high voltage cable, electrical sleds and related wiring.
The last installation consisted of a 60” channel conveyor with a total length of 7,425’. This project included tying into an existing inline transfer, assembly and installation of the drive and take up, tail inline transfer as well as all carry structure and components. This scope included over 49,000’ of messenger cable install, high voltage cable install, PMPC, Disconnect, VFD Sled and T-plate install and associated electrical wiring.
