Celebrating 20 years! Local Roots. Global Impact.
Fortis Mining Engineering Manufacturing was founded 20 years ago to solve real, on‑site mining challenges here in Saskatchewan. The province is home to more than 25 operating mines producing potash, uranium, coal, gold, salt, sodium sulphate, and clay. Having so many operations concentrated in one region has made Saskatchewan not only a global resource supplier but also a global source of mining technology advancement and expertise. This strength has helped Fortis establish an international footprint, with projects completed across six continents.

Incorporated in 2006, Fortis established itself quickly as leaders in mine hoisting, safety, and engineering solutions. Opportunity sparked the evolution and further expansion of Fortis and our divisions to operate and complement one another, so projects of any scale run smoothly. These specialized divisions enable us to create customized solutions for the unique challenges our clients face. Whether a project requires custom tooling, purpose‑built components, or a tailored approach to meet site‑specific conditions, our experienced team responds quickly and precisely. Fortis’ expanding capabilities, such as our newly formed electrical division support these efforts by providing focused, project‑appropriate solutions that integrate seamlessly with our broader operations. Together, these capabilities have given our clients solutions built for their reality – achieving more together and solving your toughest challenges.

Thank you to everyone who has helped us reach this 20-year milestone – employees past and present, our clients, and our partners. We are looking forward to the next 20 years with you!
Stay tuned for more updates as we celebrate this chapter of our story.
