Fortis was contracted by a client to provide personnel and equipment for several tasks. These included removing the existing mine hoist ropes, replacing the steel at the bottom of the shaft, and connecting to the new shaft tower structure as part of the conversion from a mine service shaft to a production shaft. Additionally, Fortis was responsible for installing new production shaft hoist ropes and commissioning new 50-ton production skips.
